1958 Uijongbu, Korea Army Jeep

This is my Dad in the army in Uijongbu, Korea 1958. I know it's hard to read some of the wording, but can anyone provide any information on the Jeep he drove?

Thank you,
Deanne

I would say an M38A1. The Army had them issued up until 1957. After that it was a M606. You can definitely tell it wasn’t one of those. In addition it appears he was a staff driver for a high ranking officer. At least one star General. Can’t make out the unit numbers though, too fuzzy. If you can make them out on the original photo you could narrow it down to which one he drove for. Side note he must have impressed someone as they don’t just pick anyone to drive …

Thank you for your response and kind words.
His bumper is 8A 514T TRK - 2

I know he was in the 514th Transportation Company, Light Truck and I researched the rest, which I think is correct.
8th Army, 514th Transportation Company. Truck, Vehicle number 2.

There is not a lot of info out there on the 514th.
As to why he may have been chosen as a Generals driver...Before Dad was drafted, he worked as a tool mechanic at Pan Am, as well as on his own cars.

He earned a few shooting medals, including one in basic training, and always had a pleasant demeanor. Maybe those aspects made him a candidate for his position.

There seems to be a name on the Jeep door that I can't make out. Wondering if anyone has knowledge as to what that might refer to.

I really appreciate your insight.
