2006 Liberty CRD on the trail

LOVE the 2006 CRD! I have 5 kids and this CRD has been the 1st vehicle for all 4 that have started driving. It has 90,000 miles and is running strong. The diesel torque is great on the trail.

These pics are from a day at Sevenmile Creek near Fort Collins, CO during spring snow melt.


Editor's Comment: Steve...It's a shame that Jeep didn't continue to use the CRD (Common Rail Diesel) engine. Nice Liberty by the way.

It's a Jeep thing!

I had the '06 Liberty new and I'll tell you guy's and gal's that was an AWESOME Jeep. I commuted 200 miles a day with it and sold it with 160,000 Miles on the OD. My wife and I cried when we let her go.

I recently bought a 2000 Jeep XJ Sport with 150,000 and didn't blink an eye at the mileage with that 4.0 in it. Three owners before myself and you just know when a car is cared for.

IT'S A JEEP THING, LOL. Keep on keepin' on. I even get the Jeep wave. You guy's know. Ha Ha. Rock on People.
Jeep Liberty CRD

I call it unforgivable that the CRD was discontinued when it was.

Is diesel for everyone? No, not really. But I believe that had the CRD engine been allowed to stay on the market longer than it had, perhaps more people would've bought the Jeep Liberty, if not for the vehicle itself, certainly for the 2.8 litre CRD engine.
It's a diesel thing

I liked the idea of a diesel that was more capable than a VW and smaller than a 3/4 ton truck. Wanted something that I wasn't afraid to take anywhere. Upgraded the torque converter and installed Green Diesel Hot Tune. I love blowing away rice rockets with it. But I can't find any performance upgrades for it. I want to get an aluminum oil pan with cooling fins and a trans pan with a drain plug. Any help would be appreciated.

I agree. I can think of any number of vehicles that would benefit from a 2.8 litre turbo diesel engine.
