I currently own a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with a 4.7L V8 engine and 4-wheel drive. It currently has 158,000 miles on it and drives very well. It is mainly used for my daily driver but has been taken off road several times. The most memorable time was at the beach at the outer banks. It handled very well on the beach and I was able to stop in deep sand and have enough traction in 4-wheel low to get going again. I did however need a new driveshaft when I got back home. In retrospect, 150,000 miles is pretty good for a drive shaft, considering I hit the sand hard several times. I have been very happy with my Jeep, it has also been in the mud a few times and performed very well. I made it up a long, steep curvy driveway in the snow once. A Jeep will be my first choice for a new car if this one ever dies.
