My grandfather retired from Coates Board and Carton Company in 1961.
He started there in 1942 and except for his years in the Army during WW2, worked there for about 40 years.
As a retirement gift they gave him a 1962 Willy's Jeep pickup, which he cherished. Alas, he fell ill and was only able to enjoy his Jeep for 6 years before his death.
With only 10,000 miles, garage kept and faithfully maintained it still sports original tires, original interior, and exterior.
Larry's Comment: That is a beauty, Chet. I can see why your Grandpa "cherished" it so much.
That would be a great retirement gift even today.
