I think the Jeep Patriot is a sorry excuse for an SUV.
A front wheel drive vehicle built on a Dodge Caliber chassis. The CVT transmission just kills the horsepower. The jerk from the transmission when you take your foot off the gas is just awful.
My opinion, they should drop in a V6, make it 4x4, make the body wider so it won't look so much like a toy, and then it could wear the JEEP logo.
Larry's Comment: Bobby...the Patriot, in my opinion, is a "compromise" Jeep in that it is available in 4 wheel drive, but with front wheel primary drive and IFS (independent front suspension). Not bad for mild (and some moderate) road conditions, but still not the kind of vehicle most traditional Jeep folks expect or want.
