For an off road vehicle, I personally prefer the Jeep. The Hummer is a great vehicle, but regardless whether the Hummer performs, many people look at it like a luxury mobile and don't take it seriously in the off-road arena. I find myself attending Jeep shows regularly and I'm always shocked to find a growing amount of enthusiasts every few years. I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, and I honestly feel like I get more bang for my buck with it. I doubt i'd be as happy with a gas guzzling Hummer. It could be a little faster, but all in all I'm very happy with this reliable vehicle. At low speeds this jeep is a miracle, but it is a bit dangerous and close to rolling over if I go too fast and don't take care. Another issue I have with it is the heater, but all in all, the problems I find with it are nothing compared to wasting gas in a Hummer that upsets all the other seemingly earth-conscious people on the road. I'm not sure about the Hummer, but with my Jeep, wind in my hair, the public and the wind noise is never an issue when I play my favorite tunes on the road.
