My son found this, and since I was looking for a "project" I eventually ended up with it. What a project it turned out to be!
I just finished what the previous owner started. He had patched and bondo'd the body, installed the current motor and overdrive then stopped. No wiring, linkage etc.
It has a mid-80's 3.8L V6, T-90 transmission, and a Dana 18 transfer case with a Warn overdrive. It has stock axles front and rear. I added the Mile-Hi winch and 33x12.50 15 tires and wheels. I have tried to keep it stock looking.
After 4-5 years of a little here and a little there, and with a lot of my son's help, it's a running drive-able fun machine Still having some hydraulic clutch problems, but what a blast.
This is my first Jeep, and although I didn't know anything at first, I caught the bug. So much that I just bought a new 2011 Rubicon.
Larry's Comment: I'm with ya, Jerry! I love those old WWII MB's, either stock or modified...and yours looks really cool.
That 2011 Rubicon ain't too shabby either. How about some photos and story on that one as well?
