The M&M CJ340DP is the elder brother of M&M CL340DP 4WD Classic which was manufactured by Mahindra till 2000. The M&M CJ340 was made between 1987-1994.
Starting 1995 the CJ340 was renamed as CL340 with no other difference (the CJ initials are owned by Chrysler Group, the owner of the Jeep brand, who asked M&M to stop using it).
In late 1996, the CL340 underwent some modification and became Classic, including addition of disk-brakes, chrome plated 2 piece Front bull bar, Bucket seat with belts, rollover bar, etc.
