I prefer the older Jeeps, my favorite model being the Willys (which are actually the early CJ’s).
I find these to be classic vehicles that are good in all terrain and extremely easy to repair. I also love the fact that the parts on them don’t change much. Most parts can be universally used through the years. A 1956 door can still be used on a 1958 model.
The newer models do not have the versatility or even the same feeling as the older classic models. The older models were also more rugged. They were designed to take a beating and survive, or to go for long periods with minimal maintenance.
Today’s vehicles are a lot more delicate and require more care. The classic Willys Jeep is also a vehicle with dignity and history.
Put one in a Mall parking lot and see how many looks it gets. I’m sure it will get more attention than the Lamborghini parked a short way down.
