It had a huge cargo capacity wedged onto the original (albeit slightly stretched) frame. What more can you ask for? Seating for 5? It has it, and little to go wrong; it'll burn anything from deisel to stoddard solvent. This left room for the chain saw, as we went up roads with trees growing in the middle between the "parallel cow trails" that passed for the road. The only problem I can think of is that it can climb stuff so steep that the fuel pump can't pump fuel uphill the seven feet from the tank to engine. We had to rig off a jerry can, but with the fender providing a nice seat, the "fuel caddy" sat holding the can, and fed the engine nicely.
Don't make me go on about other misadventures, or my dad's stories...
Larry's Comment: Rich, would sure like to know which 50's Jeep wagon you are talking about...and which engine it had/has in it. Sounds like a pretty neat rig!
